Meet Maryjo
An island resident since 2008, with 18 years of full-time experience living and working on Boca Grande — and roots on the Island going back to the late 1980s — Maryjo specializes in luxury waterfront estates on Gasparilla Island, bringing a depth of local knowledge that few agents can match. Ranked in the top 1% of agents, she relocated to the Island to be closer to her parents, trading a successful career in pharmaceutical sales for a life on the water she'd been drawn to for decades.
She has owned and personally renovated two homes on the Island — experience that gives her a sharp eye for the realities of island construction, from flood zone and insurance considerations to the permitting process, and lets her guide buyers and sellers through decisions most agents can only speak to in theory. Her personal relationships with trusted local contractors and vendors mean clients have a direct line to the right people to make their purchase or renovation go smoothly, start to finish.
Maryjo takes her professional life seriously and continues to invest in her education to stay ahead for her clients. In addition to her Florida Broker's license, she holds real estate designations in Negotiation, Second Homes, Luxury Real Estate, and Residential Construction, and has earned both the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) and Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) designations — the CLHMS awarded to agents with documented performance in the top 10% of their markets and demonstrated expertise in the luxury home and estate market. She is a member of both the national and local Board of Realtors and uses the latest technology to stay readily available to her clients.
A Penn State University graduate and Semester at Sea alumna, Maryjo is deeply embedded in the Island's social fabric as an active member of the Boca Grande Women's Club, the Gasparilla Inn, and Coral Creek Club. Outside of work, Maryjo is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys tennis, golfing, fishing, and boating. She's married with two sons, and two of the reasons (besides the obvious) she chose to call Boca Grande home are the Island's beloved bike path — the old CSX railroad corridor running the length of the Island — and its dog-friendly culture, including the nightly gathering spot at the Island's dog park.
Maryjo's strong work ethic and highest level of customer service trace back to her roots in Western Pennsylvania, where she was raised by parents who built successful small businesses of their own.
